Mapping the psychological profiles of athletes at the Nusantara Petanque Club in Kediri as a basis for developing a mental training program
Moch Yunus1, Sapto Adi2, Abdian Asgi Sukmana3, Ulma Erdilanita41. State University of Malang , ID2. State University of Malang , ID3. Universitas Nusantara PGRI Kediri , ID4. Indonesia University of Education , ID2025-11-22|page 20-28AbstractThis community service activity was motivated by a problem faced by the Nusantara Petanque Club Kediri, namely the lack of comprehensive mapping of athletes' psychological profiles as a basis for developing mental training programs. This situation has led coaches to continue relying on general approaches that fail to address the psychological needs of individual athletes. This activity aims to map the psychological profiles of Petanque athletes, covering six main components, namely concentration, resilience, self-efficacy, mental toughness, anxiety, and decision-making, as a first step in strengthening the mental capacity of athletes. The community service was conducted on October 25, 2025, at the Nusantara Petanque Club Kediri training facility, involving 14 active athletes. The implementation method employed a survey-based community service approach, involving the stages of coordination, socialization, completion of standardized psychological instruments, and quantitative descriptive data analysis using frequency distribution. The results of the study indicate that mental toughness, self-efficacy, and resilience fall into the high category, while decision-making tends to be moderate, and concentration is relatively low. These findings confirm that Petanque athletes' mental preparedness is quite strong, but there is a need to improve their ability to focus and make decisions under pressure. This activity contributes to providing an empirical basis for coaches to develop more specific, measurable, and sustainable psychological training programs.

On the other hand, office and school paper waste, as well as plant matter such as dry leaves, are still not being utilized optimally. Biopack is an innovative cardboard container made from a mixture of paper pulp and dry leaves. This product can be used as eco-friendly packaging because it easily degrades when disposed of in soil or water after use. School paper waste and dry leaves available in the Wanaasri Palembang area hold significant potential as raw materials for Biopack. Utilizing this potential is expected to increase public awareness, particularly among the PKK Rumah Cinta Dahlia Wanaasri and the teachers at PAUD Permata Bunda, as key drivers in promoting the innovation of waste management into economically valuable products that can support the establishment of community-based businesses or entrepreneurship. This community service activity was carried out through outreach and a biopack-making demonstration using lectures and hands-on simulations. The evaluation was conducted through a questionnaire to analyze the level of effectiveness and the potential for sustainability of the activity. Survey results from activity participants revealed that 93% were not yet able to recycle used paper and leaves, 63% still disposed of used paper and leaves in trash bins, and 93–100% of participants rated the activity as beneficial, noting that it broadened their knowledge and understanding of making biopack from used paper and leaves, and that they liked the biopack products and were able to use them at home. Furthermore, it is hoped that the Wanaasri community will be able to produce its own biopack, that it will be adopted by teachers at the Permata Bunda Early Childhood Education Center as a teaching aid in the learning process, and that it will eventually be commercialized.

Pemerintah Desa Sempulur, Sempulur, Kecamatan Karaggede, Kabupaten Boyolali, Provinsi Jawa Tengah , ID2026-05-23|page 68-75AbstractThe increasing elderly population demands serious attention to psychological well-being, particularly in communities with limited social support. Observations in Sempulur Village indicate that many elderly people live alone, have limited social activities, and receive minimal psychological stimulation. This community service program aims to improve the psychological well-being of elderly people through a psychoeducational program based on self-reflection and social interaction. The implementation method involves several stages: needs analysis, program design, activity implementation, and evaluation. The program is implemented through participatory group activities that include healthy elderly exercise, reflection on life experiences (reminiscence), and art therapy to stimulate aspects of self- acceptance, autonomy, and purpose in life. A total of 15 elderly people (1 man and 14 women) participated in a series of programs that were evaluated through a psychological well-being survey and participatory observation. Results showed increased social participation, active involvement in group activities, and increased self-expression and a sense of meaning in life. Furthermore, this program also had a positive impact by providing a forum for psychosocial activities that can be utilized sustainably by the village community. Thus, this program contributes to improving the psychological well-being of elderly people in a community-based manner.

However, exclusive breastfeeding coverage in Indonesia remains below the national target. Limited knowledge and inadequate emotional support for breastfeeding mothers are among the factors that may hinder successful exclusive breastfeeding. This community engagement program aimed to improve breastfeeding knowledge and practices through the implementation of the emotional demonstration (Emo-Demo) method, an educational approach that integrates emotional engagement with interactive demonstrations. The program was conducted in Sumbersari Village, Jember Regency, Indonesia, and involved mothers of children under five years of age. Pre-test and post-test evaluations revealed an increase in participants' mean knowledge scores from 72.3 to 75.3. Additionally, participants demonstrated active engagement in discussions and educational games throughout the program. These findings suggest that the Emo-Demo method has the potential to serve as a health education approach for improving maternal knowledge and supporting exclusive breastfeeding practices within the community.

M. Dandy Aryadi1, Didik Cahyono21. Universitas PGRI Semarang , ID2. Mulawarman University , ID2025-11-21|page 13-19AbstractOverhead passing skills are a fundamental technique in volleyball that often poses a challenge for young athletes, including those at the Satria Sejati Volleyball Club in Semarang. Based on initial observations, most athletes struggle to control the direction of the ball, maintain the power of their push, and keep a stable hand position. This community service activity aims to enhance the overhead passing skills of young athletes by applying a practical and easy-to-implement wall passing training method. The activity was conducted over a period of two months, with training sessions held three times a week, involving 24 athletes aged 13–17 years. The implementation method employed an experimental approach with a pretest–posttest design, where data were analyzed descriptively by comparing mean differences. The results showed an increase in passing ability from an average of 35.75 to 39.41, with a difference of 3.66 points. This improvement reflects the effectiveness of wall training in improving ball control, pushing power, and bounce accuracy. This activity also had a positive impact on increasing athlete motivation, while strengthening coaches' capacity to continuously apply scientifically based training models in the club environment.

These conditions trigger feelings of loneliness, anxiety, and sadness that are often suppressed. The lack of sharing spaces and low mental health literacy put the elderly at risk of social isolation and a decline in overall quality of life. In response to these problems, KKN GIAT 15 UNNES, together with the Tlompakan Village Midwife, implemented the Senja Room program as a mental health education and support program for the elderly. The methods used were interactive lectures, discussions, and experience sharing, games for recognizing emotions and reflecting on gratitude, and relaxation practices using deep breathing and butterfly hug techniques. The results of the activity showed that the elderly were present and participated in all activities; participants began to dare to share their experiences in discussions; participants were able to understand and explain the importance of maintaining mental health; and most of the elderly appeared more relaxed after the relaxation session. This program helps seniors feel more valued, less alone, and motivated to stay socially and emotionally active. The Senja Room program is expected to be the first step toward building a community that cares more about seniors' psychological well-being.

Assessment of volleyball skills as part of the development of young athletes at the Bahana Muda Club
Mahesa Dwi Chandra1, Usamah Daffa Inzaghi21. State University of Malang , ID2. State University of Malang , ID2025-06-22|page 64-70AbstractPeriodic performance evaluation is the primary foundation for improving athlete performance, especially in sports that demand high technical abilities, such as volleyball. Data-based evaluation is an important instrument for objectively identifying the strengths and weaknesses of athletes, as well as the basis for formulating targeted training programs. This community service program aims to evaluate volleyball playing skills by measuring the technical skills of athletes at the Bahana Muda Club in Malang City. This activity involved 20 male athletes who had experience competing in the Provincial Sports Week (Porprov) event and was carried out with a participatory approach. Several skill tests include passing, service, and smash/spike tests. The measurement results showed that most athletes were in the moderate category (40%), followed by the deficient category (30%), and only one athlete occupied the excellent category. These findings indicate that performance gaps between athletes require more individualized and structured training interventions. In addition to producing preliminary data on athlete performance, this activity also benefits coaches' awareness of the importance of data-based evaluation in coaching. In conclusion, the performance assessment carried out in this service program provides an objective picture of the athlete's technical readiness. It can become the basis for preparing an adaptive and sustainable training program. Therefore, it is recommended that evaluative activities like this be carried out regularly to monitor progress and ensure the continuity of athlete performance improvement.
