DORA Statement

Sport, Exercise, and Injury (SEI) endorses the principles of the San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA) and is committed to responsible, fair, and transparent research assessment practices.

We recognize that research should be evaluated based on its intrinsic scientific merit, including originality, methodological rigor, validity, and contribution to the field, rather than using journal-level metrics, such as the Journal Impact Factor, as proxies for the quality of individual research contributions.

Editorial decisions are based on the scientific quality, ethical integrity, relevance, and significance of submitted manuscripts. Following initial editorial screening, manuscripts deemed suitable for further consideration undergo independent peer review in accordance with the journal's editorial policies.

The journal supports the responsible and contextual use of multiple research assessment approaches, including qualitative expert evaluation and appropriate article-level indicators. Journal-level metrics may be used to monitor journal performance and development but do not substitute for evaluating the scientific merit of individual manuscripts.
